Good afternoon Wildcat Families!

Tonight is Stargazing Night at Bay City State Park from 8:30-10:00 pm. It is open house style! We will look at telescopes to enjoy the anticipated meteor showers, or you can sit back & relax, and enjoy the sky. The event will provide snacks & entertainment for all ages as well. Please join us

As we look towards scheduling students for classes next year, I wanted to share that there will be an opportunity for students entering 7th grade to enroll in pre-algebra and for students entering 8th grade to enroll in Algebra 1 (for high school credit). This is wonderful chance for students to advance their mathematical skills early. More detailed information will be provided soon.

Our Bay City Public Schools Board of Education approved the move of Eastern High School to the Handy Campus earlier this year to utilize space available at Handy while providing Eastern students and staff upgraded classrooms, made possible by extensive renovations that will happen between now and the start of the 2024-25 school year. They will occupy a completely separate wing. We are confident this change to our building’s structure will improve safety and collaboration by utilizing a smaller footprint consistent with our population of just over 600 students. Please check out this more detailed announcement and/or the district website's news section for additional information.
This Wednesday, April 24th, at 6:00, we will be having an informational night for students entering 6th grade next year. This event is for students and families. There will be a short presentation about what Handy has to offer, and a chance to meet our team of teachers and administrators as well as our office staff. You will receive club and athletic information, New Tech and Echo information, meet the Booster Club and have an opportunity to buy Handy gear. There will also be a tour of the school. This event is for families and students with older siblings here as well, to help make all 6th graders comfortable and successful in their transition to middle school.
